  1. Tried this to replicate my mom’s goulash recipe that I know she’d gotten from an old Mueller’s elbows box…circa 1970’s. It was my favorite dinner… and always with a bunch of buttered saltines 🙂 This was pretty good! I sauteéd the onions separately from browning the beef, then I added them together with the other ingredients along with 4 strips of green pepper (1/2 the pepper) for a little added flavor. It was very dense so next time I’ll add an extra half can of tomato sauce.

  2. Forgot to add…I halved the recipe…1 lb beef, 1/2 an onion, 1 can petite diced tomatoes, 1 can tomato sauce, 1 and a 1/2 c water, 1 TBSP Italian seasoning….plus half a green pepper. Got about 6 servings. And to this, half the recipe, next time I’d add an extra half can of tomato sauce.
